OUR HISTORY IN MISSIONS

portugal, angola, mozambique

FANHÕES, PORTUGAL

After being appointed as Assemblies of God missionaries in November of 2001, our first stop was Portugal.  It was there where we spent 15 months of intense study in the complex Portuguese language.  Along with our hours of classroom studies we enjoyed the warm hospitality and conversation of many which helped us grasp the language.  These months laid the foundation of our life and ministry to Portuguese-speaking Africa.

LUANDA, ANGOLA

Our first country of long-term missionary service was Angola.  Over the time we spent in this war-torn nation we sat under the leadership and mentoring of two missionaries families, Mark & Kim Gardner and Ron & Donna Mueller.  They taught us in many areas of cross-cultural ministry, including children’s ministry, leadership development, compassion ministries, and church construction.  We ministered in both urban and rural areas.

MAPUTO, MOZAMBIQUE

Mozambique was the very nation that God put on our hearts from a young age.  While living in Mozambique we were based in the capital city of Maputo.  There we focused our energy on reaching children through sports camps in both urban and rural settings.  We also organized a team of young people and began developing curriculum for the local Assemblies of God churches to effectively carry on the work of discipleship.
